Fiddlers’ is delighted to host Glasgow’s Chris Clark and Robert Henderson for a truly memorable night of classic jazz 🙂
Chris Clark is a singer and jazz guitarist based in Glasgow, Scotland. Chris hosts many regular events throughout the city and is a festival favourite at the Edinburgh Fringe and many of the wonderful jazz festivals throughout the UK & Ireland. Chris has released a well received album of self-penned songs and jazz standards which has received radio airplay on the Jazzhouse and Iain Anderson shows on BBC Radio Scotland and also on stations in the USA. Chris’s live gigs feature a mellow mode of jazz singing, with anecdotes about some of the great songwriters of the past and present.
Currently touring a solo set performing tunes from ‘The Great American Songbook’ and also as a trio with vocalist Olivia Ennemoser and renowned trumpeter Robert Henderson. Clark has performed alongside a variety of established Scottish jazz artists such as Ronnie Rae, Carol Kidd and Chris’ cousin guitarist Nigel Clark as well as New Yorkers’ Frank Perowski, musical director to Lisa Minelli and Warren Vache, plus London Scots’ ex-pats, Jim Mullen and Bruce Adams.
Most recently he has been performing as solo support to Annie Ross, the Scottish jazz singer turned American citizen, who was recently given a lifetime achievement award by the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs in recognition of her contribution to music in the US and New York in particular.
Chris has just completed a very successful week at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival to four star reviews; and his show was also highly recommended by Dillie Keane and Fascinating Aida to all their audiences – with the statement ‘Chris does it all, rarely heard verses included also with great insights into some little known songwriters…
